I was a bit early for my meeting this morning, so went exploring nearby and spotted a sign for a Victorian Pier. Arriving at the seaside as the sun came up the cast iron structure stretches over 300m into the Severn Estuary. Built in the 1860s it was originally used as a jetty for paddle steamers. Despite collapsing during a stress test, it was rebuilt and still stands.
